Watch: Yashasvi Jaiswal completed a sharp, low catch of Aiden Markram to give India their first wicket against South Africa in the second Test at Newlands.
The ball by Mohammed Siraj pitched around the off stump and Markram had a go at it, poking it defensively away from his body. He failed to get enough power on the shot and the ball ended up taking his outside edge after shaping away at the last moment.
The ball flew towards the left of Yashasvi Jaiswal, positioned at third slip. The fielder kept his eyes on the ball, moved his hands towards it, dived to his left slightly towards second slip and managed to grab a low catch inches away from the ground. It gave India their first breakthrough in the New Year’s Test, with South Africa reduced to 5-1, which soon became 48-8, with Siraj claiming six wickets wickets in the first session of the match.
South Africa lead the two-match series 1-0.
