Watch: Uncapped Pakistan Speedster Mohammad Imran Nails Yorker To Strike With First Ball In BPL Career

Watch: Uncapped Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Imran bowled Brandon King with the first ball of his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) career.

Fortune Barishal captain Tamim Iqbal won the toss and asked Rangpur Riders to come into bat in the third match of BPL 2024 to be played at Sher Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Tamim asked Mohammad Imran, a left-arm fast bowler who was celebrating his 23rd birthday, to bowl the first over. In the PSL, Imran played for Kings in Karachi in 2020 and 2021, and in Peshawar in 2022 he played for Zalmi.

Imran will be representing Peshawar region in the National T20 Cup. In December 2023, he defeated Rawalpindi Region with a record of 6 wins and 16 losses, the best result on Pakistani soil in all Twenty20 cricket competitions. He surpassed his 6 wins and 19 losses recorded by Faheem Ashraf during the 2019 PSL.

Among all Pakistan’s bowlers, Imran’s performance is second only to Sohail Tanvir’s 6 wins and 14 losses recorded during the 2008 IPL.

Here Imran was bowling over the wicket. The yorker rolled against Brandon King, who probably did not expect this move, but he went through the ‘goal’ and pushed it back over the middle stumps.

This wicket remained Imran’s only as he finished with 1-31. Rangpur’s innings never progressed. Against Khalid Ahmed (4 wins, 31 losses) and Mehdi Hasan Miraz (2 wins, 13 losses), he could only manage 134 wins and 9 losses.

Tamim led Barishal’s reply with a 24-ball 35. They won the game with five balls and five wickets in hand.
