WATCH: Two Calvin Bassey blunders condemn Alex Iwobi’s Fulham to Tottenham defeat

Tottenham Hotspur recorded a 2-0 win over Fulham in their English Premier League clash, with Calvin Bassey’s unfortunate mistake ruining the Cottage’s performance, reports Soccernet.ng.

In the 36th minute, Bassey’s poor pass in a dangerous area gave the ball to the wary Spurs, who quickly scored as Son Heung-min calmly slotted past the goalkeeper.

Despite his left-footed stance, Bassey remained uncomfortable playing from the back, allowing Spurs players to take advantage of his poor passing.

This anxiety eventually led to a second goal, with the impressive James Maddison clinching victory for Tottenham in the 54th minute.

The introduction of Alex Iwobi in the second half was intended to boost Fulham’s performance, but it did not change the course of the game as the hosts secured an easy victory.

With this important win, Spurs now remain top of the EPL standings, two points ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Fulham, on the other hand, are 13th, 12 points behind.
