Watch: Saud Shakeel played an extraordinary no-look flick for six off Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Pakistan Super League, walking off the pitch as he did so.
The Pakistan international made a great start as the opener for Quetta Gladiators, scoring 74 out of 47 points in his PSL debut yesterday (Sunday, February 18).
He also played a crisp knock against reigning champions Lahore Qalandars, scoring 40 off 23 hits to start his team’s fight back to 188 points. The highlight was the only 6 match against Shaheen Shah Afridi. The Pakistan captain bowled well outside the stumps – if Shakeel had stayed there it might have been called a mistake – but he still had good legs and was dismissed for a six. Shaquille went over and made an extraordinary no-look finish, sending the ball into the stands while continuing to leave the pitch.
Shaquille had a great start in Test cricket, averaging over 60 runs in his first 10 Tests, but he failed to shine in the same way in white-ball cricket. He has averaged less than 30 in his 15 ODIs and Sunday’s half-century was his third in 40 T20 appearances.
