Watch: Prithvi Shaw Gets Cut In Half, Loses Middle Stump To Nip-Backer In Ranji Trophy Final

Watch: Vidarbha pacer Yash Thakur breached Mumbai’s Prithvi Shaw’s defence to shatter his stumps on day two of the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 final at the Wankhede stadium.

Going into bat with a 119-run first-innings lead, Mumbai lost Shaw early as Thakur produced a corker to get the better of the Mumbai opener.

The ball landed on a good length around off and jagged back in. Shaw, batting then on 11 off 18, tried to defend it on the front foot, but the movement allowed the delivery to slip through the gap between his bat and pad. Shaw stood in disbelief as he looked at the crease before heading back to the pavilion.

Coincidentally, it was a near encore of the dismissal against Pat Cummins in the Adelaide Test from India’s 2020-21 Australia tour, which sparked a debate over his technical shortcomings against inswingers.
