Watch: Matthew Potts took his second consecutive England Lions six-for against India A, giving his side the perfect start in pursuit of a series-levelling victory in the second-string encounter.

Potts, who is just under 30 years old and has taken 23 Test wickets but is currently out of England’s plans, has enjoyed a stellar spell with the Lions in India. He took 6 wickets in the opening match of the series, which India A ended in a draw on the final day, and then took 6 wickets in England’s 1 bowling innings in the second unofficial ‘Test’, and as India A. He was the only bowler to score. An unranked player emerged with an innings victory.

In the third Test, India A were bowled out for 192, taking six wickets and delivering their most devastating performance to date. His wickets included his first four wickets and all of his top five wickets to fall, with Durham teammate Brydon his Curse also chipping in with his four wickets.

He started targeting the stumps for the first wicket from the first ball of the match. It was so accurate that Potts celebrated and ran away while Abhimanyu Easwaran was already running. Potts appealed for the remaining wickets and the batsmen awaited a decision.

Kaas then got involved and stopped Kumar Kushagra with his beauty. Potts had some luck with his fifth wicket, with his half-volley off leg stump hitting deep. Then the short ball broke. Kearse had two of his batsmen caught up and one chopped on, but his sixth of Potts also came from an aggressive shot on a short ball.

Alex Lees then supported the England Lions’ response as they achieved an unbeaten run in 48 matches, with Oliver Price accompanying him for 20 matches. Keaton Jennings was the only wicket to fall, bowling Akash deep for 20 minutes.
