Watch: KL Rahul Scoops For Four To End 97-ball Boundary Drought

Watch: KL Rahul played a scoop against Glenn Maxwell to end a 97-ball boundary-less streak for India in the World Cup 2023 final against Australia on November 19.

India got off to a great start after being asked to bat first thanks to Rohit Sharma’s quick 47 runs and 31 deliveries. However, after losing a few wickets from 76-1, he dropped to 81-3 in just 10.2 overs.

During the period of consolidation, Virat Kohli and Rahul joined forces to revive India’s innings, with India conceding just 54 runs off the next 96 balls. The two rotated and attacked, but finding boundaries was difficult.

Face to Maxwell on the second ball of the 27th over, Rahul went deep and played a paddle sweep, smashing the ball past keeper Josh Inglis to end his drought. The ball ran through thin legs to the boundary line and after some wasted practice, India scored their first four runs off 97 balls.
