Watch: Hardik Pandya can’t keep calm after umpires twice call rain delay in India vs Nepal Asia Cup match

Hardik Pandia found himself at the center of a humorous incident when he witnessed the referee fall not once but twice in false fear of the rain. The Indian team won the toss and chose to bowl against Nepal in their second match of the Asian Cup. Nepal’s innings came close to his third break.

The first incident happened right after I threw it. As India prepared to take the field, light rain began to fall, leading to a short break in the match. The groundsmen rushed to the ground with blankets, but the rain mysteriously disappeared before they arrived. The Indian players who had not yet left the field quickly regained their positions. It was a false alarm that caused everyone to riot.

The second incident happened when Ravindra Jadeja was about to throw a 35 over. The drizzle started again and this time the Nepalese batsmen rushed to the dugout in anticipation of a long break. However, the Indian players held on tight and the rest period was even shorter than last time. Hardik Pandya couldn’t help laughing and playfully teased the referee. The stump was temporarily removed, but was put back in place as soon as the rain stopped.

The third and final interruption came during the second half of the 38th, when the rain finally began to fall heavily, forcing the players off the field. At first it was a drizzle, but now it turned into a heavy rain, causing great confusion. By this point Nepal had reached a score of 178/6 and looked to be the luckiest of the two teams.

India struggled early in the game, allowing Nepal to reach 65 runs in the first 10 overs. India’s field performance was lackluster as Shreyas Ayer, Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan dropped three catches. Groundfielding was also bad and was criticized by commenters.
