The Saudi Arabian club played against Tehran-based club Persepolis on Tuesday night in the opening match of the AFC Champions League group stage to a very positive reception.

A video posted on Al Nasr’s X handle showed fans running through the streets looking for the yellow team’s coach as pre-match tensions reached a fever pitch.

Fans young and old were seen holding Ronaldo posters and wearing Ronaldo jerseys as the Portuguese superstar prepared for a match in the Iranian capital.

The 38-year-old has started the new season on a strong note with seven goals and four assists in his first five games in the Saudi Professional League this season.

After six rounds of play, Ronaldo was the top scorer with seven goals. Considering how many European stars have followed in his footsteps this season, this situation will once again distinguish Ronaldo from his main rivals.

Al Nasr has earned 12 out of 18 points so far in this campaign.
