Watch: Bangladesh Celebrate Catch At Slip, Keeper Appeals On Knees, Umpire Remains Unmoved

Watch: Bangladesh wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan went down on his knees to appeal for a catch at slip even as his teammates were already celebrating during day three of the Mirpur Test against New Zealand.

Nurul was oblivious to his team’s celebration after Darryl Mitchell intercepted a pass from Mehdi Hasan Miraz to Najmul Hossein Shanto at first slip. Believing the ball had bounced off his glove on the way to the fielder, Shant immediately cheered and was quickly joined by his teammates. Nurul was unaware that other field players had already started cheering and he continued his appeal by kneeling.

Referee Rod Tucker, on the other hand, remained unfazed and did not rule out the match. Bangladesh accepted the review and Ultra Edge saw a surge in passing through its gloves. Mitchell was eventually dismissed after 36 balls and 19 balls, leaving New Zealand with 69 wins and 6 losses. In the end, the Kiwis won by four wickets, tying the series with one win and one loss.
