As India prepares to take on Pakistan for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup, Kohli took time out to show off his exemplary soccer skills at a pre-match training session in Colombo.
It’s no secret that Kohli, one of the best batsmen in modern cricket, is a huge football fan. He has repeatedly professed his admiration for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and even attended the FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United a few months ago.
Kohli also owns shares in Indian soccer club FC Goa and has even participated in an exhibition football match between Indian cricketers and actors.
It is common for cricketers to warm up in a soccer session, something the Indian team did before their training session the day before their big match against Pakistan in Colombo. Kohli showed off his brilliant soccer moves and became the talk of the town.
Kohli has been in good form in this year’s ODIs, but failed to make an impact in the first match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup, playing just four points off Shaheen Afridi’s shot.
The match was called off due to rain in Palekele, but both teams were hoping for better weather in Colombo. Although the forecast is not very good, the day before the India-Pakistan match, hopes are high for the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh match, which will be played at the same venue without any interruption due to rain.
