IND vs AUS, 2nd ODI: Team news

India is most likely to play the second ODI in place of Jasprit Bumrah. His form has been satisfactory since his return from a long injury. Mohamed Siraj may return to get fit in time for the World Cup.

KL Rahul, who led the team in the first two ODIs, returned to batting form with an unbeaten 58 (33) in the last match. Shreyas Iyer remains favored at number four. Meanwhile, veteran off-spinner R Ashwin, who has returned to India’s ODI World Cup plans after a gap of 20 months, should retain his place. Ashwin was seen batting in the nets right after his team won by his five wickets in the opening match. This was a sign that India wanted to maximize output from the tail.

Australia will aim to further refine their team coordination ahead of the tournament, as several players who missed the tour to South Africa have returned. Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are still unavailable for selection in the second ODI, captain Pat Cummins said.

Match prediction – Today’s India-Australia live match

As India approaches the quadrennial event, boxes are gradually being ticked off with each match. Suryakumar Yadav repaid the team’s faith by scoring a winning score of 50 (49) in the first match, causing one of the biggest concerns ahead of the World Cup. The home team should be wary of the “hard start” batting approach that Australia has been using a lot lately.

Even if Australia loses the opening match, it will be a close match.
