The match officials for the two semi-finals of the 2023 World Cup have been announced. Here is the full list of match referees and umpires that will officiate in the two games later this week.
The World Cup hosted by India is in its final round with three matches left to decide the winner. The first semi-final will be played between India and New Zealand on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The two teams also met in the semi-finals of his 2019 edition, with the Black Caps winning.
The second semi-final of the World Cup will be played the next day between South Africa and Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India won all nine league matches and finishedat the top of the points table. Meanwhile, New Zealand finished fourth ahead of Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both teams losing their last two matches. Kane Williamson’s team have never beaten a semi-finalist at this World Cup and are hoping to come back from the dead and finish in the top four.
South Africa came in second and Australia came in third, with seven wins each. South Africa’s net run rate of +1.261 is better than Australia’s +0.841, and both teams will face each other on November 16th.
South Africa defeated Australia the last time the teams met, but Pat Cummins’ side have enjoyed success since then, winning seven games in a row.
