Two Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Nigerian attacker

Akpom has been in great form for Ajax in recent weeks and has already attracted interest from the Premier League

Premier League clubs Crystal Palace and Fulham are keeping tabs on Nigerian attacker Chuba Akpom, who has had some impressive performances for Ajax recently, reports Soccernet.ng.

Akpom was named player of the match at last season’s English Championship, scoring 28 goals and providing two assists in 40 appearances.

After a great season, Akpom moved to Ajax in the summer in a deal worth $14 million. Akpom’s appointment coincided with Maurice Stein’s tenure as coach. However, despite being presented with the club’s iconic number 10 jersey, he failed to break into the first team.

However, Stein was dismissed after a series of poor performances. In October, Fant sent his ship to Ajax and he was appointed head coach of Amsterdam.

Since Mr. Shipp took over as Ajax manager, the situation at the club has improved. The club has only lost once in their last five matches. Akpom has also made a comeback with five goals in his last five games. He also made his first appearance for the club at the weekend in his 5-0 win over Vitesse.

Akpom’s impressive performances have sparked interest from the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and Fulham already making inquiries through TeamTalk.

Despite this interest, Akpom is unlikely to leave Ajax this winter. However, if he continues his excellent performances, he could leave the club if Ajax receives a good offer next summer.
