Yuki Tsunoda considers AlphaTauri a “dark horse” and releases an update on points earned for the American F1 GP.
After a slow start to the 2023 F1 season, AlphaTauri picked up the pace in the second half, particularly in the final weeks, overtaking Haas and Alfa Romeo to move into eighth place in the standings.
With two laps remaining, he was only a few points behind Williams in the battle for seventh place. There is a chance to defeat them, but it will not be that easy or easy. Tsunoda believes AlphaTauri are a dark horse at the moment due to the pace they are showing.
“Yes, this is a big surprise and I think we are a dark horse at the moment, especially when compared to other competitors,” Tsunoda told the media. “It’s been good. So far I’ve scored points in the last three events so I feel really good. I just keep going race by race. Now I’m close to seventh in the championship so , I would like to do my best if possible.
“The inside of the car feels very similar and has better balance, but the results speak for themselves.
