“The Champions League final is the only game you played good in your career”- Ex-Chelsea star tells Mikel

Mikel had a great career at Chelsea, but the Champions League final was one of the best games of his career

Former Belgian international striker Eden Hazard has told ex-Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi that the best game of his career was the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.Soccernet.ng reported.

Hazard was one of the best players to ever play for Chelsea. The Belgian lit up Stamford Bridge on many occasions, scoring 85 goals and providing 61 assists in 245 appearances for Chelsea before moving to Real Madrid in 2019.

However, the former Belgium international struggled to make a decision before moving to the Blues, as Manchester United and Manchester City were also interested in him.

Hazard admitted that he was not at the top of his list at the time due to Chelsea’s poor performance, finishing sixth in the Premier League that season. However, he admitted that he changed his mind after winning the Champions League in 2012.

Hazard watched the game and said he was also a little annoyed with his former Chelsea teammate Mikel.

“When I wanted to change clubs, Chelsea was not an option until the day we won the Champions League,” Hazard told the ObiOne podcast.

“I was watching the game from my hotel room. The Champions League final is the only game in which you (Mikel) played well in your career.”

Hazard played alongside Mikel Obi at Chelsea and both players had a good relationship during their five years together at the club. Mikel also criticized Hazard several times on his podcast, but they still maintain a good relationship.
