Tamim Iqbal has been left out of Bangladesh’s Cricket World Cup squad.
The first few months after the start were turbulent. He retired from international cricket, then withdrew his retirement in July, and resigned as captain in August, both decisions being determined by previous issues.
Shakib Al Hasan, who replaced Tamim as captain, met with Tamim at the residence of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chairman Nazmul Hassan on the eve of the squad announcement and held a summit meeting. There, Tamim reportedly suggested that he could only play a maximum of five matches in the Cricket World Cup due to a back injury, but Shakib was unwilling to accept that.
