New Zealand’s domestic T20 competition, the Super Smash, will get underway for the 2023/24 season – here are the full squad and team lists for each side in the Super Smash.
Six teams compete in a round-robin format, with each team competing twice and then three teams qualifying for the playoffs. The highest placed team advances directly to the finals, while the second and third place teams compete in an eliminator with the winner qualifying for the finals.
The Northern Brave won their fourth title in a row in 2022/23 thanks to Mitchell Santner’s 3-16 bowling record. This held him to 154 wins and 6 losses before the Canterbury Kings went undefeated. Quickfire hit 22 of 13 pitches with his bat, joining Tim Seifert (51 of 40) and Joe Carter (19 of 30) in hitting the target with 12 pitches remaining. Santner was also the hero in the 2022 final, where he scored a 40-ball 92 not out to win his third silver medal.
