Super Eagles head coach Jose Peceiro has made some key changes as the three-time African Cup of Nations winners aim for revenge against Zimbabwe, Soccernet.ng reported.
While it was expected to be an easy win for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, the West African side earned a surprise 1-1 draw against Lesotho’s Crocodiles.
The absence of key striker Victor Osimhen was felt as missed chances crippled Nigeria’s attack and Lesotho’s unexpected lead through Motlomelo Mkhwanazi exposed defensive weaknesses.
Thanks to West Brom defender Semi Ajayi for scoring the equalizer against South Africa and saving the Super Eagles from yet another humiliating result.
Following the result of the match, the Portuguese tactician made a drastic change to his line-up, making his debut starting Nathan Tella in place of Kelechi Iheanacho and securing all the points against the Warriors.

Peseiro has time and again shown his faith in Omonia FC goalkeeper Francis Uzoho who maintains his defensive position.
The Portuguese manager opted to rebuild his defence, bringing on Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina for Bright Ossai-Samuel and Bruno Onyemeachi for Jamil Collins. Therefore, the Ajay-Bassey pair remains intact.
In midfield, Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka retained their positions, supported by Joe Aribo, with Moses Simon replacing Ademola Lookman. At the front line, Terem Moffi replaced the injured Awoniyi.
Here’s the lineup:
