“Such a great player” – Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi praises former Chelsea playmaker after big Fulham win over Nottingham Forest

The Nigeria international was one of the standout stars for the Cottages, who easily defeated Steve Cooper’s side

Super Eagles playmaker Alex Iwobi spoke to Willian after they both played key roles in Fulham’s 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night. Soccernet.ng reported that he gave kind words.

Fulham recorded their biggest win of the season against the struggling visitors, with Iwobi scoring twice for the first time in the Premier League.

Willian provided the assist for Iwobi’s opening goal, sending a pinpoint cross into Forest’s danger area, where the Nigerian winger set up Fulham’s opening goal.

Raul Jimenez scored either side of half-time and Iwobi scored his second goal of the night to hand Forest their eighth defeat of the season, shortly after Thomas Cairney’s 85th-minute smash.

Among the many impressive players who have featured on the pitch for Fulham, Iwobi was especially praising Willian, highlighting the former Chelsea talisman’s qualities despite his advanced age.

According to Fulham News, Iwobi was asked about Willian, 35, and said: “Yes, I mean, we know he has quality. We see him every time in training, we see him in the Premier League. Everyone is seeing it.”

“Willian is a very good player. He makes it easy for us because he just runs into the box and nine times out of 10 he hits it.”

Iwobi has scored three goals in 11 games for Fulham since joining from Everton in the summer.

Interestingly, the Nigeria international has only scored 6 goals in 123 league appearances in his four years at Everton, having joined from Arsenal in 2019.
