Joseph Lolo impressed as part of the South Sudan U-20 team at the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup tournament in Egypt.

South Sudan U-20 captain Joseph Lolo has been called up by the South Sudan Football Association for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, reports Soccernet.ng.

The 19-year-old midfielder is at the center of transfer saga in the summer window of 2023, attracting interest from newly promoted NPFL clubs Sporting Lagos and Remo Stars.

Despite transfer speculation, Lolo received confirmation from his home country’s football association to join the senior national team for matches against Senegal and Mauritania.

The application from South Sudan expressed its gratitude for the possibility of the athletes’ participation and emphasized the country’s gratitude for its continued support.

The request from South Sudan reads as follows: “We would like to thank you for your generosity in facilitating the participation of our athlete (Joseph Rollo) in these international conferences.”

“SSA is especially grateful for your continued support and looks forward to considering this request.”

Lolo, who currently plays for Ojodu FC in Lagos, decided to join the club after a failed move to a club in the South West.

The midfielder is keen to showcase his talent on the international stage and Ojodu FC are planning to release him to represent South Sudan in the upcoming qualifiers.
