Shikhar Dhawan Mocks Pakistan Fielding Mix-Up In Australia World Cup Warm-Up Fixture

Shikhar Dhawan shared a clip of a comical mix-up between two Pakistan fielders during their 2023 World Cup warm-up clash against Australia.

Over the years, several Pakistani fielders have been caught up in misunderstandings that resulted in whiffs, much to the amusement of opposing fans. Another similar incident occurred today, on the first ball of matchday 23, when Haris Rauf sent a short ball to Marnus Labuschagne. The batsman gently played the ball towards well-supported square leg where both Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz tried to stop the ball.

However, the two men almost collided trying to intercept the ball, and as they were doing their best to avoid contact with each other, the ball rolled across them to the boundary line, and the Australian dodged it four times. It’s done.

Dhawan, who was not selected in India’s World Cup squad, shared a video of the incident on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Pakistan and Fielding’s never-ending love story.”

Australia finished the innings at 351-7 with Labuschagne scoring a 31-ball 40 and Rauf giving up 97 runs in nine overs.
