Watch: Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan hammered Haris Rauf for twin sixes off consecutive deliveries during his match-winning unbeaten 41-ball 74 in the PSL 2024 curtain-raiser game against Lahore Qalandars.
Shadab, who returned from an ankle injury, ended PSL 2024 in style with a great all-round performance. After choosing to bat first, Shadab was selected as the bowler for the match between Islamabad and Lahore, where he won 1 and lost 24 out of 4 matches, posting a score of 5 for 195.
Chasing an impressive total, Shadab moved up to number three and scored a 41-ball, 74-run knockout. Besides 5 sixes, he reached his 4 boundaries, of which his 2 were in consecutive balls against Rauf which he scored in 17 overs.
Required for 32 in the last four overs, Shadab, who was batting 55 off 35 balls at the time, picked Rauf, who had lost 24 runs for two, with a whick over deep midwicket for a six . Shadab added more salt to the injury, sending Rauf for another maximum on the next ball. Rauf lands it long and aims it at his leg stump. Shadab created space and cut him through the covers.
Shadab’s blitz, buoyed by Salman Agha’s unbeaten 31-ball 64, helped Islamabad reach the target in 18.2 overs, losing two wickets in the process.
