Shadab Khan Injury Update: PCB Taking ‘Every Precaution’ After Third Concussion In 13 Months

Shadab Khan has been ruled out of Pakistan’s clash against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata today (October 31) after sustaining a concussion against South Africa. The Pakistan Cricket Board have released an update regarding his fitness.

Pakistan vice-captain Shadab suffered a concussion after hitting his head on the ground during the last match between Pakistan and South Africa in Chennai. He had to leave the field immediately and Osama Mir was brought in as a concussion substitute.

Osama, who took two wickets in the match, retained his place in Pakistan’s eleven for today’s match against Bangladesh, while Shadab is still absent as he is yet to recover from his concussion.

According to the PCB’s official update: “As a result of the tests, the medical board had no choice but to exclude him from the match against Bangladesh.”

Shadab was injury prone due to concussions. In fact, this is the third concussion he has suffered since September 2022, once in a collision with another fielder during a T20 Blast match against Surrey in England earlier this year, and once in Asia He suffered another concussion during a collision with Asif Ali in the cup final.
