Some of the Super Eagles’ star players took part in the game on Tuesday, but none of them could come away with a win
Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi played the full 90 minutes for Porto against Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reported.
Sanusi returned to Porto’s starting XI after traveling to Spain to face Spanish champions Barcelona in the game to determine the Group H winner.
The Dragons got off to a dream start with Pepe scoring after 30 minutes. However, Joao Cancelo scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute. João Félix then scored the winning goal in the 67th minute. Nigerian defender Sanusi recorded 50 touches, two interceptions and one tackle.
Sanusi had a pretty solid performance on the night, but was unable to contribute to Barcelona’s goal as he was unable to penetrate his wingers.
