Watch: Young Pakistani left-handed batter Saim Ayub stroked his way to his second first-class hundred in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore today, October 22.

At the end of 63 overs, Masood hit 164 off just 159 balls after hitting 12 fours and seven sixes. Ayub, on the other hand, reached his second century as a first-class player, hitting 173 off 202 balls, 19 fours and two sixes at the time of writing. He scored an impressive 352-1 for Karachi, also at a run rate of 5.58.

Ayub has been brilliant in all formats over the last few months. He made his international debut in his T20I series against Afghanistan immediately after the PSL after performing brilliantly in his PSL earlier this year.

He then made a name for himself in the Caribbean Premier League, becoming the second highest run-scorer with 478 runs in 13 innings at an average of 43.45 and a strike rate of 143. And now, he is scoring runs with those runs and lighting up Pakistan’s top-flight circuit.

Ayub is only 21 years old and has a long and bright future ahead of him.
