Yesterday (December 26), thefirst Test between South Africa and India started 30 minutes late, with the toss delayed by 45 minutes due to a wet outfield. Heavy rain was predicted all day, but fortunately the sky cleared in the evening on the first day, allowing for a potential 59 overs before the early stumps appeared.
KL Rahul led India and batted expertly at the tail end to remain unbeaten with 70. Meanwhile, Kagiso’s Rabada player recorded his 14th five-for in Test cricket and crossed his international wicket total of 500. Weather could spoil the second day at Centurion. The chance of rain during the day is never less than 40% so expect multiple cancellations and delays. It rained heavily during the night and it didn’t clear up in the morning. This may result in a delay in the resumption of play on the second day.
