Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze is yet to make his first start since signing a transfer deal from Villarreal to AC Milan, reports Soccernet.ng.
Chukwueze attracted significant interest from the Rossoneri in the summer transfer window and was ultimately moved from Villarreal to San Siro on a contract until 2028.
However, the Nigerian winger has had limited minutes in the first three Serie A matches, with Christian Pulisic emerging as the frontrunner for manager Stefano Pioli.
American international Pulisic, who moved from Chelsea to AC Milan for around 20 million euros, made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his first three games for the club.
Previous reports outlined when Chukwueze is expected to make his debut with the Red & Blacks, but his recent international performances suggest what Pioli may be missing from the attacking line-up is highlighted.
Although Peceiro’s tactics seemed to suit Chukwueze’s style of play, the winger failed to earn a starting spot in coach Jose Peceiro’s Super Eagles.
But instead, Chukwueze had a great impact. Coming on for Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho in the 73rd minute, he brilliantly provided the assist for Victor Osimhen’s third goal of the game, sealing victory with another goal after a pass from Victor Boniface.

With the much-awaited Milan derby against Inter Milan and UEFA Champions League group game against Newcastle United just around the corner, Chukwueze’s excellent international performances suggest he will be on the pitch for AC Milan in the near future. This suggests that the number may increase further.
