Ashish Nehra is well suited for this position as he has vast experience as a cricketer. Nehra played 29 Test innings, 120 ODIs and 26 T20Is, taking 44 wickets, 157 wickets and 34 wickets respectively. His T20 average of 21.44 is very attractive.

Ravi Shastri and his team’s tenure ended at the end of 2021 with Rahul Dravid taking over as the new head coach. His tenure got off to a good start, but the team was eliminated in the semi-finals by eventual champions England, despite progressing well in the lead-up to the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Officials said they respect the decision taken by the former Indian captain regarding his desire to remain in the Indian team. Rahul Dravid brought the team back on track after the controversy surrounding Virat Kohli’s captaincy and fostered great camaraderie among the players.

Although his coaching performance was not exceptional, he helped the team find the right combination despite failing to win the ICC title in the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup . Currently, VVS Laxman is serving as the head coach of his Indian cricket team in his ongoing T20I series against Australia.
