Rafael Nadal has released another social media video detailing the trials and tribulations he endured during last year’s ATP Tour hiatus.

Nadal underwent arthroscopic surgery in June, dropping him out of the top 600 for the first time since 2002.

However, things appear to be looking up as it was revealed the Spaniard will return to the Brisbane International Stadium before returning to the Australian Open.

And in his latest video, Nadal talked about his road to recovery: “It’s been a long year with many stages, with each week leading to disappointment after disappointment as we tried to restart the clay court season.”

The 37-year-old continued: “So I had to stop and say ‘enough’ and look for a definitive solution, and that was surgery.” Since then, everything has It was a new horizon and a difficult road. But always have hope of coming back.

And the 22-time Grand Slam champion is hoping to improve on his previous performance in the tournament after reaching the quarter-finals in 2017.

“I have gone through many stages, but I think today is the time. I will return to the tournaments that I am familiar with, as I have played in the past, namely the 250 tournaments,” said the Mallorcan. explained. “I know it’s a difficult tournament, but I hope I’m ready to compete. Nadal will make his return at the Brisbane International, which begins on December 31st, before moving to Melbourne for the Australian Open, which begins on January 14th.
