Paul Onuachu clarifies early exit in Trabzonspor vs. Besiktas game

Paul Onuachu had an unsuccessful move from Belgian club KRC Genk to Southampton during the January transfer window

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has explained why he was sent off early during the match between his new club Trabzonspor and Besiktas JK, Soccernet.ng reported.

Onuachu got off to a great start for Trabzonspor, scoring his first goal for the team 29 minutes into the match. It was his first goal since joining Southampton from KRC Genk in January.

The former Genk striker joined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan after deciding his playing time at Southampton was limited.

Before scoring his first goal, Onuachu was hit by a rough tackle from Salihu Ujan.

However, he managed to get up and meet Ennis Baldy’s cross to give the home team the lead.

After the match, Onuaçu expressed his joy at scoring his first goal for the Turkish team: “I’m proud to score in my first game. Everyone fought hard.”

Regarding his early exit from the match, Onuachu said: “I don’t think my injury is that serious. I stepped away from the game to prevent it from getting any worse.”

Although there is no official update on the severity of Onuachasu’s injury, fans are confident that the big striker will continue to build on his success in the coming matches.
