Usman Khawaja has received support from his Australia captain for the “humanitarian messages” he wishes to sport on his shoes during the first Australia vs Pakistan Test starting tomorrow (December 14) in Perth.

The ICC’s dress guidelines prohibit any political messages, and Khawaja was told she was not allowed to wear the shoes.
Khawaja posted emotional videos on social media, insisting that these messages were humanitarian and not political. He said he would appeal his ICC decision.
“The ICC said you can’t wear shoes on the field because they think it’s a political statement based on their guidelines.” I don’t think that’s the case. It’s a humanitarian appeal. I respect their opinions and decisions, but I try to disagree and get approval. Freedom is a human right,” Khawaja said.
Khawaja received support from his teammates on this issue. First, Pat Cummins came forward and supported Khawaja at the pre-match press conference.

“Uzi doesn’t want to make a fuss. His shoes say ‘All lives are equal.’ I don’t think there is much disagreement on that. I don’t think anyone will complain too much about that,” Cummins said.
“I think one of the strengths of our team is that everyone has their own passionate opinions and personal thoughts, and I had a quick chat with Uzi about that today. And he doesn’t want to claim too much. It’s a big fuss, but we support him. I think what was written on the shoe was “All lives are equal.” I support it. ”
Federal Sports Minister Annika Wells said of Khawaja’s message at a press conference today (December 13): “Usman Khawaja is a great athlete. Usman Khawaja is a great Australian and has every right to speak out on issues that are important to him. He peacefully and respectfully supports the Australian cricket team. I think I did it in a way that allowed me to express my personal views as an individual without jeopardizing my obligations to the ICC.”
