Pakistan Wicketkeeper Azam Khan Takes Spectacular Tumbling Catch Sprinting Backwards In National T20 Cup Final

Watch: Pakistan wicketkeeper Azam Khan claimed a spectacular catch for Karachi Whites in the National T20 Cup final against Abbottabad.

He dismissed opener Sajjad Ali after the last ball of the second over, boosting his team’s defense from 155. The short ball bowled by Shanawaz Dahani missed the top edge and the ball went straight over the leg side. Azam gave immediate chase and judged the opportunity well, catching the ball outside the 30-yard circle before it hit the ground.

Throughout his career, Azam was repeatedly plagued by questions and contradictions regarding his fitness. “It’s not about being overweight. It’s about performance,” he told Cricket Monthly earlier this year. His supporters boasted that these efforts proved his critics wrong.

Azam last played for Pakistan in March 2023. He has played five T20Is but is yet to play any notable innings. His average in all T20 cricket is his 25.33 and his strike rate is his 144.75.
