Osimhen’s agent leaves transfer door open for Chelsea, Arsenal moments after Super Eagles striker extends Napoli deal

The Nigerian striker is a hero at Napoli and is high on the wishlist of big clubs in Europe and beyond

Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calender has refused to close the door on signing the Super Eagles striker, who will leave Napoli next summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen signed a one-year contract extension at the weekend, ending a lengthy back-and-forth with the club since the summer.

Napoli want to keep the current African Player of the Year until the end of the 2025/2026 season.

However, Osimhen remains one of the world’s most popular strikers and continues to be linked with English Premier League powerhouses Chelsea and Arsenal. Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr made offers for Osimhen last summer, and it is reported that he could return within six months.

Calender confirmed that Osimhen and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis wanted the Nigerian to stay at Napoli, and that this influenced Osimhen’s decision to sign a new contract.

However, the Italian international has suggested that nothing is set in stone and that talks with Napoli’s owners next summer will reveal Osimhen’s next move.

When asked what will happen in May, Calender said in a conversation with Corriere dello Sport (according to Tutto Napoli):

“Last summer there were a lot of offers, including some bad ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor, so we made our own offer.

“If we had a desire to leave, we would have said so. Instead, we put a lot of effort into renewal.

“And it will be the same next summer. We will talk to De Laurentiis and together we will figure out what to do.”

Osimhen has seven goals and two assists for Napoli this season, but received a red card as Napoli lost 2-0 to Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
