Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has received advice from Super Eagles legend Emmanuel Amuneke to stay focused and calm for continued success, Soccernet.ng reported.
Osimhen earned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Player of the Year award after his impressive performances for Serie A champions Napoli, scoring some impressive goals in the 2022/23 season.
In an interview with Tribal Football, Amuneke praised Osimhen for representing African talent on a global scale and stressed the importance of continued focus.
He also acknowledged the rise of promising young African talent in Europe, including Tottenham’s Pape Matar Sarr, Milan’s Sam Chukwueze and Napoli’s Osimhen.
“Yes, we have already confirmed that there are some good young (African) players currently playing in Europe.
“For example, we have a Senegalese player called (Pape Matar) Sarr who plays for Tottenham. At Milan we have (Sam) Chukwueze.” And of course Osimhen from Napoli. I think there will be new names and new faces in the future,” Amuneke said.
Amuneke expressed optimism about seeing new faces shaping the future of African football. His advice to Osimhen was clear: “He just needs to calm down and concentrate. Good things will happen to him.”
