Onyekuru’s significant strike insufficient for Al Feiha against Ighalo’s Al Wehda

Three players were involved in a tie but shared the spoils

Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru scored his first goal for Al Fayha in the 1-1 draw against Odion Ighalos Al Hueda, Soccer reports.

Al-Fayha’s visit to Al-Weda at the King Abdul Aziz Stadium in Mecca was an incident of Nigeria’s brothers at war. Ighalo wore the colors of Al-Wehad, while Onyekuru and Anthony Nwakaeme contested for Al-Fayha.

The visitors got off to a very good start as Zambia’s international fashion Sakala proved to be a difficult customer for Al Weda. Midway through the second half, his workload finally paid off.

The striker made a quick run and penetrated deep into the home team’s penalty area in the 23rd minute. He fired a powerful shot that was deflected, but Onyekuru, who was on the edge of the rebound, smashed the ball into the net for his first goal for the club, making it 1-0.

Al Fayha maintained the lead until the second half. Ighalo did not receive much air from Al Hueda’s attack. Although he gave a strong effort and showed good looks, he was unable to score.

Nevertheless, Javad El Yamik scored the home side’s equalizer in the 76th minute, ensuring an interesting ending. However, they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. All Nigerian players involved in this match played the full 90 minutes.
