Three of Nigeria’s top soccer exports join forces with Nigeria’s biggest stars to turn back the clock in Zambia this weekend
Nigerian greats Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha and Daniel Amokachi are among the African legends scheduled to arrive in Zambia on Saturday, December 2, reports Soccernet.ng.
Okocha is considered one of the most talented African athletes, and Amokachi helped Nigeria win gold medals at the 1994 African Cup of Nations and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Former Arsenal star Kanu is one of Nigeria’s most successful footballers in history, winning the UEFA Champions League as well as multiple Premier League and FA Cup titles.
The three Super Eagles heroes will be front and center in African Legends as they take on Chipolopo Legends in a charity match in Lusaka.
According to Zambia Football, Okocha, Kanu and Amokachi will be joined by former African Player of the Year and Zambian star Kalusha Bwalya.
Former Arsenal and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor and former Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah are among the retired players expected to attend the meeting.
South African heroes Mark Fish, Lucas Radebe, Siphiwe Shabalala and Ghana’s World Cup legends Asamoah Gyan and Robert Kidiaba will also grace the occasion.
The battle between African Legends and Zambian Legends is scheduled to take place at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka and will kick off at 3pm.
