Super Falcons defender Ashley Plumpter recently left Leicester City Women upon the expiration of her contract.
According to Soccernet.ng, former Leicester City defender and Super Falcons player Ashley Plumptre has officially joined Al Ittihad Ladies Club of the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
The 25-year-old defender, who made 62 appearances during his three years at Leicester City, left the club after his contract expired.
She had previously mentioned plans to play abroad, but later confirmed via social media that she would represent Al Ittihad Ladies Club.
This move is important for the club’s women’s team, especially considering that the men’s team has notable players such as Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
Plumptre further established her status during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with impressive performances, including a powerful long-range shot that nearly eliminated England.
She is excited about her new trip abroad and hopes to help Al Ittihad win the SAFF Women’s Premier League trophy, which was last won by Al Nasr Women.
โI am grateful to have signed with Al Ittihad. I am excited to start this journey with great people. My journey of self-discovery continues. No,โ she announced on her social media feed.
