Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match against England to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 4.
Maxwell, who recently scored the fastest goal in World Cup history with 40 pitches against the Netherlands, suffered a concussion while playing golf and was removed from the starting eleven as a precaution.
Maxwell played in all six matches and scored 196 runs, a best of 106. He recently scored the fastest World Cup goal of the century in just 40 balls against the Netherlands in Delhi. He also took his 4 wickets with off-spin.

Early in the evening on a typical day off, Maxwell lost his footing in the back seat of a golf cart while returning from the clubhouse to the team bus. It is understood that the trip was short and there were not enough vehicles to carry everyone. He will be treated for a concussion, which is expected to last six to eight days.
Australia Coach Andrew Mcdonald Reveals That Glenn Maxwell Is Doing Fine
Last year, Maxwell slipped at a friend’s 50th birthday party and suffered a serious injury that left her with a broken leg for about five months. However, Australian coach Andrew McDonald said the all-rounder was OK and would begin light training within the next few days.

“I have to be honest that when we found out he had a concussion and was going to miss the game, we were all nervous. Nothing about his actions throughout the day. Although there was nothing unusual, this was clearly an accident and unfortunately affected our work as a team.”
McDonald stressed that activities such as golf should not be banned as players need a break from cricket.
Another defeat means Australia will have to replace one of their key midfielders against England, with either Markus Stoinis or Cameron Green likely to feature, with Marne Labuschagne is likely to be selected for the eleventh spot.
