Novak Djokovic on whether he is the GOAT: ‘We can suggest three answers…’

Novak Djokovic says it’s not his job to say whether he’s the greatest player of all time, but he’s definitely proud of what he’s accomplished in tennis.

Djokovic has spent almost his entire career in a three-way battle with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to secure all the major records in men’s tennis.

Most of these records belong to the Serbian player, and there is little doubt that statistically he is the best player to have played in the game.

However, the debate continues, with many people making their case, citing era differences and other more subjective arguments.

But for Djokovic, this discussion is something he can never get involved in.

When asked if he thought he was the best of all time, Djokovic told L’Equipe: “There are three answers.”

“First: “I’m the best.” If you think like that, some people will say, “He’s arrogant!” He has no respect for others.

“The second answer is to say, ‘I don’t think I’m the greatest,’ thereby showing that I’m completely humble about the possibilities.”

“And number three: “I am who I am and I am proud of what I have accomplished, but I respect other eras and all opinions and will leave the GOAT debate to others. ”

“The third is my answer.”

Can Novak Djokovic post unsurpassable numbers?

Novak Djokovic has already set almost every record he could want in men’s tennis. This is even more remarkable considering the era in which he was playing.

He has won more Grand Slam titles than anyone, won more Masters, and spent more weeks at world number one than any player in history. This number is truly frightening.

But what’s even scarier is that he’s still on top and looks better than ever. And that he’s not ready to stop.

“Tom Brady is a great example of someone who is a champion of his sport and has a great career and longevity,” Djokovic said.

“He has spent many hours on self-care and recovery, striving to somehow cover every aspect of his body and mind so that he can build a long and successful career.

“I know him personally and have learned a lot from his example. I hope my career continues into my 40s and beyond. Take a look. Let’s do it.”

Like Roger Federer, it would be hard to imagine anyone being able to beat the record Djokovic would achieve if he played into his 40s.
