Charles Agada impressed at the U-17 AFCON, matching former Super Eagles star Daniel Amokachi
Charles Agada, who was invited to the Flying Eagles, scored a hat-trick for Mabron FC, eliminating Fiorentina from the 2024 Viareggio Cup tournament in Italy, reports Soccernet.ng.
The 17-year-old was recently compared to Daniel Amokachi for his speed, skill and strength after garnering media attention following his impressive performance in the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament .
Aghada continued this great performance for Mabron FC, scoring the opening goal in the 40th minute, giving Mabron a 1-0 lead at half-time.
He scored his second goal in the 65th minute and seemed to have Mavron under control. However, Fiorentina fought back and closed the gap with a goal in the 71st minute.
As the match intensified, Fiorentina managed to equalize in the 90th minute, setting the stage for a dramatic end.
With both teams heading into extra time, Agada displayed his talent and scored the winning goal just two minutes into stoppage time, ensuring Mabron FC a place in the quarter-finals.
Aghada, who captained the team, had outstanding performances throughout the tournament, scoring an impressive seven goals in four games.
