The Super Eagles star missed Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe but is expected to return to action

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has returned to training with Leicester City after missing the past four weeks with a muscular injury, reports Soccer.

Ndidi has been sidelined since the last week of October when he suffered a muscular injury following Leicester City’s 3-1 win over Swansea City in the Championship.

He missed Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe last week due to injury. His absence from the Super Eagles squad became noticeable as the three-time African champions managed to collect only two points in two matches.

However, the 26-year-old midfielder has resumed individual training with Leicester City and is expected to return to action soon. Ndidi shared a video of himself practicing on the pitch on Tuesday, which is a good sign.

Leicester City coach Enzo Maresca Leicester City coach Enzo Maresca has yet to give any new updates on the former Genk player’s situation. However, it is unlikely that he will be able to stay fit enough for the Foxes’ championship game against Watford this weekend.

Still, he should be fit enough when he travels to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday in two weeks’ time.
