Naseem Shah Gives Pakistan Fresh Injury Scare, Leaves Field Holding Arm After Diving On Ball

A few days after giving Pakistan a shoulder injury scare, Naseem Shah walked out of the field during their clash against India while holding his hand on Monday (September 11).

There was little to celebrate for Pakistan as the crucial match entered the preliminary day and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul each scored a hundred to lead India to a 356-2 win. Babar Azam’s team picked up two wickets on Sunday but remained wicketless on Monday as the Indian batsmen had fun.

Pakistan, already reeling from an injury scare as Haris Rauf was unable to take the field on the reserve day due to side strain, Naseem was dismissed midway through the 49th over.

After bowling the second ball of the 10th over, he felt visibly in pain and eventually withdrew his hand and walked away. He could not complete the rest of his four deliveries which were completed by Iftikhar Ahmed.

The extent of Naseem’s injuries is still unknown. He scored 54 runs in his 9.4 overs and took no wickets.

At the beginning of the tournament, Naseem injured his shoulder while diving, landing on the ball and was seen lying face down for some time until medical staff carried him to the dressing room. However, he quickly returned and in 5.4 overs he finished with figures of 3-34.
