Napoli legends rips into Rudi Garcia for Osimhen decision in loss to Fiorentina

Napoli wanted a goal against Fiorentina, but Garcia chose to exclude Osimhen

Napoli legend Giuseppe Bruscolotti has criticized coach Rudi Garcia, who replaced Osimhen in the second half of Sunday’s 3-1 loss to FiorentinaSoccer reported.

Napoli suffered their second defeat of the Serie A season as Fiorentina visited the Stadio Diego Maradona over the weekend. Partenopeas could not dominate the match and in the end he conceded in the 7th minute with a goal from Josip Brekalo and lost.

Osimhen scored in the 23rd minute, but his goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. However, his ability could not be denied as he scored a penalty in first half stoppage time to make it 1-1.

Osimhen had a good chance to give Napoli the lead at the start of the second half, but fumbled his line. Napoli opened the scoring a few minutes later, with Giacomo Bonaventura scoring in the 63rd minute to make Fiorentina 2-1.

Napoli failed to raise the stakes after losing again. Despite not having many shots in the final three, Garcia brought on Giovanni Simeone for Osimhen in the 77th minute.

After the defeat, club legend Brus Scolotti attacked Garcia. He believes Osimhen made a very poor decision to replace him.

“Garcia needs to come to his senses a little bit. I see him completely confused,” Bruscolotti was quoted as saying by Napoli Magazine.

“The players don’t want to be the manager, but they want to make it clear that this will have no consequences.” Garcia understands that even if Osimhen loses, he cannot be taken away. There is a need to.

There is already talk that Napoli have approached former Marseille manager Igor Tudor as a possible replacement for Garcia. If he doesn’t start winning games regularly, he could soon leave Napoli.
