A car fell off a bridge above the track at the Miami F1 circuit, killing the person behind the wheel.
A frightening incident occurred at the Miami F1 circuit on Thursday afternoon when a car fell from a bridge above onto the circuit. The accident occurred in the Turn 16 area of the circuit and the driver of the car was killed.
The driver was traveling south on the Florida Turnpike near Hard Rock Stadium. The man driving the Dodge was ejected immediately when his car hit the bridge railing and appeared to be dead before firefighters arrived.
The car somersaulted into the palm trees below, jumped over the barrier and landed on the F1 track. The Florida Highway Patrol determined that the gray Dodge lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier. The exact sequence of events is still under investigation.
