Matt Potts Replaces Injured Josh Tongue For England White-Ball West Indies Tour

Matthew Potts has been called up to England’s ODI squad for their white ball tour of the Caribbean next month, after Josh Tongue was ruled out of the series through injury

Tongue sustained the injury during England Lions’ training camp in the United Arab Emirates and will miss both the three-match ODI series and the five-match T20I series. No further details regarding his injury were released.

Potts is also currently attending a training camp in the United Arab Emirates and has been called up as a substitute for the ODI series. There has been no update on Tongue’s replacement for his T20I series. Potts has played three ODI matches for his country, most recently against Ireland in September.

The three-match ODI series begins on Sunday, December 3 in Antigua. The next match on December 6th is also scheduled to be held at the same venue. The final match of the series will be held in Barbados on December 9th, while the first match of his T20I series will also be held on December 12th.

Tan is yet to make his international debut with the white ball, but he made his Test debut against Ireland at Lord’s this year. He then played his Lord’s Ashes Test and took five wickets, dismissing Steve Smith and David Warner in his second innings.
