Kane Williamson Returns To Lead New Zealand In Three Match T20I Series Against Bangladesh

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will lead a relatively stable T20 team in the final international series of the year. The Kiwis will play Bangladesh in the first T20 International in Napier on December 27, followed by two further matches in Tauranga on December 29 and 31.

This series will be important for the team as it prepares for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and the United States next year. Regular opening pitcher Devon Conway and a number of injured players Michael Bracewell, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry and Henry Shipley were not considered for selection.

The only players in the group who did not feature in the team’s final T20I series against England earlier this year are Kane Williamson, Jimmy Neesham and Ben Sears, who returned to the squad. Kane Williamson missed the series as he recovered from knee surgery, while Neesham missed the series due to the birth of his first child.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said the series was the start of the team’s preparations for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and the team had several players to test before the main event. He said he believes there is an opportunity.

“It’s great to finish off a busy year that started with travel with the group we assembled in New Zealand. We’ve played T20 cricket in a variety of conditions this year and a wide range of players have contributed. It’s great to see you do

“Tim Seifert, for example, returned to the team in a specific role at the head of the order and made significant contributions in every series he participated in.”

“With the World Cup taking place in the middle of next year, planning is well advanced, both in terms of the tournament and the type of team that will be needed given the circumstances. – As we saw with this year’s one-day World Cup squad with players like Ravindra, plans are well advanced, but there is certainly still time for players to join the squad.”Gary Stead said. p>

The New Zealand team is made up of both experienced and emerging players and is looking to strengthen its approach to T20s ahead of the 2024 World Cup. Players have the opportunity to assert themselves within the team and make an important contribution to the team’s success.

New Zealand squad: Kane Williamson (captain), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Darryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell・Santner, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, Tim South
