Italian media predicts Chukwueze’s starting Debut: Inter Milan or Newcastle United?

Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze joins AC Milan from Villarreal during the summer transfer window

Italian media have predicted when Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze will play for AC Milan for the first time after his move from Villarreal CF, Soccernet.ng reported.

The Nigerian striker has signed a five-year contract with the Rossoneri for a transfer fee of around 20 million euros, after spending time with the Yellow Submarine since 2017.

Chukwueze has not secured a place in Pioli’s starting XI despite attracting attention after joining Milan in July, with former Chelsea star Christian Pulisic often preferred .

Cukwueze is currently focused on the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe, and will soon return to Milan to prepare for an important match against arch-rivals Inter Milan.

Italian media have speculated that Pioli may continue to favor Pulisic over the Nigerian winger. Nevertheless, there is a strong possibility that Chukwueze will make his debut in the 2023/24 season when Milan face Newcastle United in his UEFA Champions League opening game.

Despite lack of goalscoring in Serie A in three appearances for Milan, Chukwueze remains a powerful attacking threat. Pulisic, by contrast, has already scored two goals in his first three games for the club.

Cukwueze will be determined to put in an outstanding performance and fight for a place in the starting line-up when he returns to Italy.
