Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who was part of the official broadcaster’s Hindi commentary team during the tournament, selected the 12-member squad of the best players in the tournament on November 20.

Rohit Sharma scored one century and 597 runs in 350 matches, while Quinton de Kock was South Africa’s bright spot in the World Cup campaign, topping the rankings with four centuries. Virat KohliHe topped the charts with 765 runs along with 3 centuries and 6 fifties and Rachin Ravindra was the young player of the tournament.
South Africa’s young fast bowling sensations Marco Jansen and Gerard Coetzee became the team’s leading wicket-takers, outpacing experienced pacers Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada. This booked them a place in the semi-finals of the event, but Mohammed Shami impressed everyone as the top wicket-taker of the tournament despite playing fewer matches.
