James Hopes, Northern Suburbs coach and member of the Hurricanes’ coaching staff, recommended Choudhary’s name to the team before the season, and he made his BBL debut shortly thereafter.

Chowdary took a total of 9 wickets and scored 139 runs in 16 T20 matches. He also made two appearances in his A matches for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
